MUTUALS  + FOLLOWING

I’ll only interact if we follow each other. However, non-mutuals can still like posts, reblog posts, & send me asks if they desire to. I just only want to write threads with mutuals because it’s less stressful.

I’m also likely to unfollow if any of the content on your blog makes me uncomfortable. If you decide to unfollow, please SOFTBLOCK me. Because I may not realize you unfollowed, and I may attempt interaction.

As for DUPLICATES? I don’t mind following other Jins, and I’ll happily interact with them! It could be the multiverses are crossovering, twin AU, hell I could just play Devil and you could just play Jin or vice versa!

This blog is also very accepting of OCs and crossovers.

CANON DIVERGENCE

I do try to follow canon. However, I have my own headcanons, theories, and takes that can make my Jin unique from canon. I also hate how Tekken 6 handled Jin’s character. He was uncharacteristically cruel and sadistic, as well as his “plot” made little sense when you think about it for more than five seconds. On top of that, it defeats the original purpose of his character and why I like him so much. So while this blog still acknowledges 6, it was Devil Jin who started the war, and he was in control of Jin’s body throughout all the events - Jin has NOTHING to do with it - Jin was only able to take back control near the very end, where he defeats Azazel. Thus, Jin’s own memories of 6, and the characters involved, are foggy.

Jin and Devil Jin are not the same character / person - Devil Jin isn’t just Jin but he’s corrupted by the “devil gene.” In my depiction, Devil Jin is a separate entity who is parasitic, and shares the same body as Jin.

Speaking of which - although this is, technically, a dual muse blog - if muse isn’t specified, then the default will always be Jin (as, he’s usually the one in control with the exception of above) unless I feel the interaction fits Devil Jin or the muse has a more established relationship with Devil.

I also don’t follow any movies (live action, OVA, nor blood vengeance) the anime (bloodline) comics, or any other adaptations. I only follow (most of) game canon, as trying to piece together the adaptations are too difficult as they’re very inconsistent with the games’ lore, and are considered noncanon by the official team of Tekken, too. However, I may cherrypick little things from adaptations if I see them fitting.

NSFW + Triggering content

Posts may contain some triggering content, frequent ones that’ll pop up are: abuse/neglect, suicidal thoughts/ideation, and cannibalism may be one - even if Devil Jin isn’t a human, he still has a humanlike appearance. I try to tag all triggers or potentially triggering content. I refuse to write incest, or p*dophilia too. I will block you if you write these contents because they make me very uncomfortable.

Smut threads will be present. If I put them under a readmore only depends on if my partner does it or not. But they will always be tagged - particularly as “spicy” - since Tumblr likes to block the tag “NSFW” and that makes it difficult to find posts tagged it for later.

GODMODDING + METAGAMING

Godmodding is a no and metagaming is also a no

SHIPPING

This blog is multiship. However, it may be difficult to ship with Jin as he’s a bit standoffish towards many people - and DJ is one of the least romantic monsters. I’m okay with pre-established relation/friendships as long as they’re plotted first - or, as for friendship, as long as it’s already established in canon itself. (Such as Xiaoyu and Hwoarang.)

REBLOGGING

Anything but threads are rebloggable! Because typically my partners don’t like threads to be reblogged. Whether you’re a mutual or not, feel free to reblog my ooc posts, my shitposts, memes, my art (highly encouraged!) I don’t mind at all!!! 🥺🥺🥺 Also, if you sent in a meme or anything in the inbox, you’re very free to turn it into a thread.

MUN DOES NOT EQUAL MUSE

I’m not Jin or Devil Jin - please don’t get mad at the me (the mun) or assume I share the same beliefs because of my muses’ statements or actions.

GRAPHICS + ICONS

All graphics used on this blog are made by me unless stated otherwise.

MUN

Hi hi hi! I am the mun, you can call me by Wikia or anything, I am 24 years old. If you made it down here, I just wanna say that there’s no password to send and thank you for reading and respecting my rules! I hope to write with you soon. ❤︎

THE HUMAN.

A broody, very serious, but determined young man. Although he appears stoic and humorless, he can be a caring person underneath his hardened exterior. Someone who wants to save the world from the evilness of heritage. But, could he too, have a dark side to him...?

STORY

Jin is the cursed son of Jun Kazama, and Kazuya Mishima. His mother raised him alone, secluded in the wilderness of Yakushima, as his father was supposedly dead before his birth. Jun refused to go into the details as to his father’s absence. Only that his father had succumbed to a horrible darkness, and it lead to his inevitable downfall. Thus, Jun made Jin vow to a life of pacifism - to never kill, lest he want that same dangerous rage to consume him whole.

For the 15 years he’s lived, Jun trained Jin in the Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts. A fighting style that’s passed on to her family for long generations. A style that emphasized defense over offense. One of peace. Jin’s life wasn’t anything eventful, but it was a tranquil one. This was until the mother sensed a great disturbance that shook her soul from deep within. She could perceive something truly evil nearby their home. The darkness was so overwhelming; she feared it would destroy her and everything she loved. Jun prepared to search for this spirit before it could strike first. However, because of its powerful presence, she feared there’s a chance she won’t return. In case she didn’t, she urged Jin to seek an elderly man named Heihachi Mishima, his grandfather on his dad’s side. Jin was an impressive fighter at his age, but he didn’t possess her skill. Jun’s job as a mother was to protect her son, no matter what. Therefore, she demanded Jin to stay behind. Jin tried to listen and remain home. But it didn’t last long. After all, what teenager ever heeds their parent? Jin's apprehension worsens as he sits on the couch, imagining scenarios where his mother is helpless. When he believed himself to be a skilled fighter, Jin didn’t think he should stay put. Therefore, he left to find his mother.

A heinous beast is what the mother and son met. It was called Ogre; which was true to its name. It was much larger than any human. Its complexion was green, and it' had a demonic appearance. The two fought, but as Jun had suspected - her son couldn’t keep up with it. It threw Jin into a tree.

Jin lost consciousness.

He awoke to a forest ablaze. Ogre was gone, and so was his mother. With his home in shambles, Jin reached the horrific realization that Ogre killed his mother. Filled with fury, grief, and a need for revenge, Jin finally listened to his mother; and sought Heihachi Mishima.

Heihachi Mishima wasn’t what Jin had expected; the president of a multibillion company called the Mishima Zaibatsu. A company which initially sold weapons, but had since moved on to a vast variety of products, much nicer ones. It was a bizarre fact to discover that his grandfather’s this successful entrepreneur. Jin and his mother were never wealthy, only middle class. However, Heihachi took Jin under his wing, and built upon his training. This time, passing on the Mishima’s style of karate - a style that’s been in the family for generations.

As they trained, Jin began admiring Heihachi. His grandfather was not only powerful in terms of net worth, but was also an expertise in martial arts. However, Heihachi didn’t feel mutual about his grandson. He was rather standoffish toward Jin. Not caring for idle talk, no smiles. Everything about him was cold as steel. Jin wanted to regard this behavior as that of an eccentric billionaire. Perhaps one who’d rather talk with his fists than his mouth. But, with Heihachi’s harsh exterior, Jin started suspecting his grandfather harbored a strong detestation toward him.

But Jin wasn’t always alone. He had his classmate and best friend, Xiaoyu Ling. An upbeat girly girl who was always supportive of him, no matter what. There was also Hwoarang; an equally skilled fighter who Jin met during his grandfather’s business trip to South Korea. They initially disliked each other. More accurately, Hwoarang disliked Jin after he failed to defeat him in a street fight. Despite the rocky start, they soon learned to look past their rivalry after bonding. Although Jin was indifferent to making enemies, and didn’t share Hwoarang’s one-sided resentment, made it easier for their friendship to blossom.

Heihachi informed Jin of what had killed his mother. The God of Fighting. A beast who craved violence, and sought only the most impressive fighters, to absorb their skill for his own. He had no interest in battling subpar fighters. They served no purpose to him. The information given to him had opened his eyes. Jin understood why Ogre spared his life.

Ogre’s blunder, Jin thought.

On his 19th birthday, Mishima Zaibatsu announced the King of Iron Fist Tournament 3, a fighting tournament that gathers only the most skilled fighters from around the globe. The grand prize was a large sum of money. Jin, however, didn’t care about the money. All he yearned for was vengeance. After everything Heihachi had said, Jin knew Ogre would show as well - there were too many souls for him to ignore. In fact, this was too perfect. Jin had suspicions that Heihachi held the contest as bait to Ogre. Heihachi must’ve thought Jin was now ready. This made Jin proud, almost.

Thanks to Heihachi’s intensive training, Jin ends up victorious in the King of Iron Fist Tournament 3 by killing Ogre. Ogre didn’t die like any man, though. The best way to describe it was to call it an explosion. Ogre blew up, and out came the most gorgeous set of lights - all flying away as though they were returning home. Jin, feeling like he’s avenged his mother and the other victims, turned to leave. However, men with guns blocked the entrance. Jin stared at them, perplexed. Until he realized they were here for him. But Jin’s realization came too late. The guns fired, and within seconds, Jin was bleeding out on the floor, fast. Heihachi emerged from behind the men and approached his grandson. Although Jin knew he was dying, he still reached out to his grandfather, pleading for the old man to perform a miracle and save him. Heihachi answered these pleas by pulling out a colt and putting a bullet in Jin’s head.

Everything went black.

Two years later, Jin now lived in Australia, carrying a suffocating fury. He had devoted his time to nonstop training. Jin forced himself to forget the Mishima style of Martial Arts and developed a new style of fighting. One based on traditional karate. Somehow, he survived what would’ve been certain death for any normal person. Jin has no recollection after his grandfather shot him, but he had soon dug deep into his family’s history and discovered rumors about his father. Kazuya Mishima: Part devil. Kazuya possessed something referred to as the devil gene. There were theories that this was simply something that brought out the worst in someone until rage and hatred consumed them whole. Other theories were that the host is born with a parasitic-like devil that takes over whenever emotion overwhelms its host, or when the host’s life is in danger. Upon this research, Jin found rumors regarding his father’s state - possible footage showing he was alive after all. Jin became convinced this is how he survived Heihachi’s attack; a guardian devil helped him. But because of Heihachi’s betrayal, and Kazuya and these own devils, Jin now believed the Mishimas could only bring pain and suffering to the world. Jin now had only one goal set in mind: to end the Mishima bloodline with his father, grandfather, and himself.

How convenient it was that Mishima Zaibatsu announced another King of Iron Fist Tournament, a fourth one. Jin, knowing both his father and grandfather had history with the tournament, entered to make sure he goes through with his goal.

However, in the middle of this fourth tournament, Jin faced a second attack by Heihachi’s soldiers - this time using tranquilizers in lieu of live ammunition. Jin attempted to fight them off. There were too many men. They overpowered him, and the tranquillizers sent him to dreamland. They dragged an unconscious Jin away. Kazuya was there as another participant. He was waiting to fight Jin. But since Jin never showed, the representatives announced Kazuya as the winner by default. Kazuya, knowing his father too well, had an idea that Heihachi was to blame for his son’s sudden disappearance.

Kazuya left to confront his father, but found his son instead, who hanged by chains wrapped around his arms. The Devil within Jin grew intoxicated by another devil’s presence. This excitement, and intense urge to maim, woke Jin from his slumber. Thanks to the powers gifted (or cursed) by his devil, Jin gained the strength to break free from his chains. Unlike last time, Jin could feel his devil trying to take over. Jin fought to restrain his devil and was successful, albeit barely. Although, the devil isn’t what Jin’s focus was on. Instead, he directed his rage toward his father. While Jin has never met him afore, he blamed him for the blood-lusting devil within.

When Kazuya failed to defeat Jin in combat, Heihachi returned to challenge Jin, telling Jin he’ll finish the job.

Like the son he was utterly disappointed in, Heihachi also failed to kill Jin. The sight of his grandfather caused all the sickening memories to flood Jin’s brain - the physical and verbal abuse he endured from Heihachi. The neglect from his father and grandfather. Hatred swelled in Jin’s heart, and the Devil burst out of it. Pitch, black wings sprout out of Jin’s back, and black markings filled his chest. Jin withdrew his arm for the kill. Like a coward, Heihachi turned his head away and squeezed his eyes shut tight. Just when Jin was about to deliver the final - something interrupted him. It was a vision of his mother right before him, staring with eyes filled with this unbearable sorrow. It reminded him of her wisdom - to not kill and let your hatred turn you into something unrecognizable. Jin, who didn’t want to end up like the unconscious man on the floor, released Heihachi. He turned around and flew away.

Yet as he flies through the moonlit sky, Jin’s thoughts grew more frantic. He did the right thing, yet something screamed at him, insisting he was wrong for letting them live. No, someone. It was the Devil’s voice. Jin didn’t want to disappoint his mother. Jin wanted to be pure. But the Devil made a point; he let evil men live. Jin became increasingly stressed, and then… blacked out.

He couldn’t remember what happened next. But his eyes opened to a ravaged forest. For a moment, this distressed him - the scenery was too familiar to Ogre. Except now the monster was within himself. Upon returning home, nightmares of the Devil plagued Jin’s dreams. Then it would talk to him when he’s awake. Although pleasant conversations were scarce. Their talks burn into fiery arguments because of opposing views. This Devil taunted Jin for his humanity, compassion, mercy, and weakness. Meanwhile, Jin tried retaliating by calling the Devil heartless and incapable of love. The Devil assured Jin that people will eat him if he wasn’t first to pick up the fork. It was a convincing argument, as his family had already attempted killing him a few times now.

Still, Jin refused to listen.

As time passed, Jin’s stress was too much to handle, and so was the Devil’s firm hold over him. Jin’s blackouts were more frequent, and harder to prevent. However, out of everything, Jin’s breaking point was his sudden illness. There were mornings where he’d wake up vomiting. Some days, his nausea was severe, and the fevers didn’t help his blackouts. Jin linked this illness to the devil gene, and knew he must rid himself of it.

It wasn’t surprising when the Zaibatsu announced another King of Iron Fist. However, what surprised was its new twist; whoever won the tournament owns the company. While Jin believed gaining vast power and fortune could help him find a cure. Jin also felt a similar sensation to what his mother experienced years ago - a strong disturbance, this overwhelming darkness that threatened the world.

Even more shocking, the Devil encouraged Jin to join the tournament. Jin tried to ask, but the Devil wouldn’t share the reason for his eagerness. Regardless, Jin had no choice but to fight.

Jin was noted as desperate and ill during this competition. He was shaky and refused conversation from anyone, even to his friends. He distanced himself, for he feared the Devil would harm them. Then there was that darkness again - Jin felt this pressure that only he could extinguish it. Unfortunately, Jin wouldn’t get the chance - he was up against Hwoarang. Jin urged his friend that he had some family business to deal with. Hwoarang, in his determination, wouldn’t listen. Perhaps Hwoarang’s been training even harder, or Jin’s illness had hindered him. Hwoarang got what he desired: he defeated Jin. To Hwoarang’s disappointment and frustration, Jin had little reaction. He departed with indifference, stating he had more important issues to tend to rather than humoring a childish, one-sided rivalry.

He went home and collapsed to the floor. Jin’s illness finally caught up to him, and the Devil’s laughter rang in his head. He may be delirious from the fever, but Jin believed he knew what must be done. There were two evil entities that had to be destroyed. Though he was upset by his loss, Jin had faith that Hwoarang could stop the one in the tournament. Now, Jin must stop the one swirling in his body. Although he’s weak and clammy, Jin dragged his body across the house and into the kitchen to retrieve a knife. He barely reached into the drawer to yank one out. Before Jin could bring it to his neck, he collapsed again. This time, though, his entire world went away.

Jin had remained unconcious for half a year. When he finally woke up; it was inside his spirit. Although groggy, he realized what had happened: His breakdown had made him vulnerable for the Devil to take over his body. The Devil, wasn’t happy about Jin’s consciousness, having fully believed he had gotten rid of the human that shared their body. Jin immediately responded by trying to regain control - this battle waged on for weeks. At one point, in a fit of anger, the Devil mentioned a demon called Azazel, the supposed source of the Devil Gene, and thus - Devil’s creator. Devil had this deluded idea that he can take Azazel’s power, and not only get rid of Jin, but take over the entire world. Apparently, Devil had started an entire war against the world to achieve this.

After a long battle of mental struggle within, Jin weakened Devil enough to regain access to his body. Just in time for Azazel to wake up, and greet Jin - whom he referred to as his shadowJin knew it was up to him to kill Azazel; to save the world, and as retribution for the chaos and agony his devil had caused. Jin tackled Azazel, and they both fell into a pit to never be seen again. Many presumed Jin to be dead after this.

BUT JIN KAZAMA DOESN’T STAY DEAD, DOES HE?

Jin remained unconscious for half a year. When he did wake; it was within himself. Although groggy, he realized what had happened: His breakdown made him vulnerable for the Devil to take over his body. Jin’s reawakening did not thrill the Devil, having believed he had gotten rid of the human that shared their body. Jin reacts by trying to regain control - the battle waged on for weeks. At one point, in a fit of anger, the Devil mentioned a demon called Azazel, the source of the Devil Gene, and thus - Devil’s creator. Devil had this deluded idea that he can take Azazel’s power, and not only destroy Jin, but take over the entire world. Apparently, Devil had started a war against the world to achieve this.

After a long mental struggle within, Jin weakened Devil enough to regain access to his body. Just when Azazel emerged to greet Jin, whom he referred to as his shadow. To clean up his Devil’s mess, Jin rose against Azazel; to save the world. The fight lead to the two falling into a pit together. They were both assumed dead after this.

Jin was clueless to almost everything which transpired during the war - only that he had stopped Azazel from ending humanity. Alas, the victory didn’t eradicate his devil gene. Now, he wandered aimlessly in the middle east, physically weakened from both the fight with Azazel, and the ongoing war within him. Devil was still there, and he was furious with Jin for soiling his grand plan. Soldiers for the United Nations hunted Jin because of his status as a war criminal. Jin’s current fatigue caused him to faint. But before the UN could apprehend him, his uncles came to his rescue.

For a prolonged time, Jin was comatose. Many believed he was recovering from the fight with Azazel. However, Jin was involved in another struggle - this time with Devil. Jin wouldn’t wake until he takes Devil’s powers.

In the end, the human was the victor, and learned to utilize the power of the devil.

The world’s plunged into chaos, and while it wasn’t his fault, but the Devil’s, Jin blamed himself regardless. Had he not been weak, he could’ve stopped his Devil. Jin shortly learned of Heihachi’s death, and that Kazuya is still continuing the war. Upon acknowledging how many people have, and will die, Jin can deny it no longer… he must kill his own father.

THE DEVIL

Full of rage, greed, and with a thirst for power. The Devil is a being who loathes every living creature, and relishes in their agony and misfortune. If it wasn’t for his face, most would refuse to believe this being could possibly be Jin - some still believe he’s not regardless of sharing the body.

STORY

Devil had always been with Jin since his birth. However, Devil’s consciousness remained dormant until the betrayal of Heihachi. Jin’s death activated the Devil Gene, and its Devil took control to, ironically, save Jin’s life. Thanks to his unique powers, their bullet wounds healed. In a fit of rage, the Devil slaughtered Heihachi’s men and hurled the latter through a wall. Because of his animalistic instincts, he spared Heihachi’s life and flew away.

He didn’t have a name. Those who were aware of his existence called him “Devil Jin,” since he and his host share the same face. Others referred to him as “DJ” for short. Jin, however, wasn’t comfortable sharing his name with a demon. Thus, he only referred to him as “Devil.” Though he was cruel, DJ attempted a friendship with Jin. It wasn’t genuine, as DJ only wanted to use Jin for his personal goals. Alas, his endeavors were often futile, and couldn’t fool Jin. Notwithstanding, DJ could be successful at getting through Jin’s head and causing him inner conflict.

Every time Jin let anger overwhelm him or his life was in danger, the Devil takes over. However, Jin always returned from this. That was until the fifth King of Iron Fist Tournament began. An unknown entity began whispering to DJ, and DJ alone. At first, it wouldn’t say its name. But it told DJ it was his creator, and that he had an important role to play. Almost coincidentally, Jin was stricken with an inexplicable illness. The thing informed DJ that Jin’s affliction was a part of this destiny.

Heihachi was supposedly dead during this tournament, after being betrayed by Kazuya. With no one to run the Mishima Zaibatsu, Heihachi’s father, Jinpachi Mishima, seized control and announced a new tournament. Except Jinpachi wasn’t the same. No, something dark possessed him, yet different from the devils. Jin felt this, and so did Devil Jin. It convinced the two Jins to enter the tournament.

After Jin lost to Hwoarang, his mental and physical health collapsed tremendously, and Jin could no longer win the fight for control. DJ seized the opportunity to overpower Jin and take the body. Afterward, Devil Jin found Hwoarang, and beat him to near death. Since Hwoarang couldn’t continue the tournament upon being hospitalized, Devil Jin advanced through it, mercilessly conquering over any opponent with ease. Then when he fought Jinpachi? Devil Jin still won.

With Jin out of the picture, Devil Jin learned how to maintain a human appearance. He manipulated everyone into thinking he was Jin. DJ couldn’t find satisfaction in being the CEO of the most powerful company. Devil Jin dreamt of more power. The voice that inspired his search for domination. This voice eventually revealed himself as Azazel. Azazel once ruled the heavens and earth millennia ago. His reign ceased when humanity overthrew him, then sealed him away with magic. Azazel explained he can only break free once humanity has reached its lowest point. DJ agreed to help Azazel by declaring war on the world. Except, DJ neglected to tell Azazel about his own plans to betray him, and to take earth for himself.

During the beginning of the war, DJ, in a twisted sense, missed Jin’s presence, or so he believed. It was surreal to be alone, genuinely alone. Though they were bitter toward one another, Jin was still company. The supposed grief and stress of the war made the Devil more belligerent.

To gain more allies, Devil Jin lied to any decent person by claiming his intent was to save the world from an evil force. His ‘father,’ Kazuya, soon played a major role in this war, opposing his ‘son’ with his own company, G-Corp. This was everything Devil Jin wanted, as the hatred between ‘father’ and ‘son’ could be the final tipping point in Azazel’s awakening.

In the middle of the war, DJ’s dreams mutated into nightmares. Every night, Jin was there. Not in plain sight, but somewhere in the distance, staring with a vengeful fury in his eyes. Devil Jin wanted to brush it off as a mere ghost haunting him. But when Jin’s visits became more frequent, DJ couldn’t deny it any longer, Jin was still alive and looking for payback. Devil was now desperate to escalate the war and wake Azazel.

Fight after fight, DJ realized how stupid he was to have missed Jin. Jin’s presence reminded him of how much he hated the man, and how it was the lack of company and change that disturbed him.

Unfortunately for the Devil, he was too slow. Jin tarnished his plans by finally defeating the Devil in the mental combat, and taking back his body - right before Azazel rose from his barrier.

verses

TEKKEN 3 After the God of Fight, Ogre, supposedly killed his mother when he was 15, the now 19 year old Jin sets out to get revenge in the third tournament. Strictly trained by his grandfather for 4 years, Jin believes he has all the fists to kill Ogre for what he took.
TEKKEN 4 2 years after he was shot by his grandfather, Jin's been training in Australia to forget everything he was taught, and learn traditional karate. Learning that his father is alive, and that the two of them are part devil, Jin deemed himself, and his family a curse, and vows to end the bloodline.
POST 4 - PRE 5 (MAIN VERSE) The pacifistic memory of his mother was enough for him to not kill his father, and grandfather. Now Jin is focusing on the devil within him, and how to either subdue, or eradicate it. The Devil, however, is rather stubborn and keeps trying to convince Jin to go on a journey for power.
TEKKEN 5 Neither Human nor Devil can seem to coexist. Jin's nightmares are getting worse, along with his mental and physical health. On top of all that, a new evil force has disturbed the world. Jin enters the fifth tournament to end this darkness, and the one within him.
TEKKEN 6 Jin lost the fifth tournament, but the Devil won it. After taking over the Mishima Zaibatsu and Jin's body completely, the Devil declares war on the world in search for ultimate power - the source? His very creator, Azazel. However, G-Corp, the United Nations, and even some of his former soldiers, are all racing to stop him before he achieves this.
TEKKEN 7 But the one to stop the Devil was Jin himself, after finally regaining the strength to take back his body. However, now both human and devil are weakened. Jin spends most of his days in a coma after defeating Azazel.
TEKKEN 8 Feeling immensely guilty about the mess his Devil has made, Jin is more deteremined to stop the war, and kill Kazuya to do so. Jin now seems to be in control of his devil powers, and the Devil is nowhere to be seen. And seemingly when he's lost an enemy, he gains an ally - the woman who was determined dead for years, his mother.
